Technical Support Specialist

Location: Markham ON, Head Office

Job Description:

The successful applicant will need to provide technical support of our application and its infrastructure to both internal personnel and clients via telephone, email and onsite contact. They will need to respond accurately and with good judgment to all client inquiries and evaluate when second tier intervention is required and/or necessary to resolve the issues in a timely manner. This position requires excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written), resourcefulness, a pleasant demeanor, and solid understanding of the product and the environment it operates within.

This Job is all around Oracle products (Database, WebLogic, Java, etc.) and requires good knowledge in these products.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical assistance to clients, as well as Support and Consulting staff
  • Install, configure and document Oracle based Human Resource application
  • Provide remote training and troubleshooting for clients
  • Frequently travel to client offices in both Canada and United States
  • Work with call centre support staff to troubleshoot and resolve client issues
  • Maintain in-house network infrastructure, server systems and work stations
  • Performance tuning of in house and client environments
  • Be able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as part of a team

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with Oracle Databases
  • Must have experience with web environments using an Oracle WebLogic Server
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiar with installing and maintaining application in Windows and UNIX operating systems
  • Experience supporting a multi platform network environment would be an asset
  • Experience with training of end users would also be an asset

Hours:

All candidates must be flexible to work shifts (we are open from 8 to 8) and public holidays as required. Overtime may be required from time to time to meet client deadlines and off hour maintenance.

Compensation:

This is a full-time salaried position and qualifies for High Line Corp’s standard benefit plan. Starting salary is dependent on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

  • Must have experience with web environments using WebLogic Server 11g or higher
  • Must have knowledge of SQL; knowledge of PL/SQL an asset
  • Knowledge of Java would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
